YOUR PURPOSE AND FUNCTION IN OUR COMPANY:
To assist the various Claims units (Support, Subro-Salvage, Auto PD, Property, Liability, and No-Fault) as required to meet department objectives and provide unsurpassed customer service.
KEY CAPABILITIES FOR SUCCESS:
- Support the Claims Department and Company’s missions, visions, values, and goals.
- Contribute to special projects as deemed necessary by management.
- Act within defined decision making and financial authority to support the handling of claims of minimal severity and complexity
- Issue payments and expenses within limited authority
- Treat customers in a proactive and responsible manner.
- Develop an understanding of claim procedures and file administration for proper file documentation and claim reporting.
- Maintain compliance with regulations and good faith claims handling practices in all activities and file handling.
- Follow training, works independently within required time frame, as measured by quality and quantity of work produced.
- Process non-routine transactions and production when necessary, as determined by feedback from support and claims unit staff.
- Develop a working knowledge of insurance policies and endorsements.
- Assist with system testing in support of Claims or Enterprise initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An associate’s degree or equivalent job related experience.
- Professional designation recognized by the insurance industry is preferred
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Possess critical thinking skills
- Independent worker
- Strong time and project management skills in support of continued process improvement.
- Requires problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Promotes strong team focus by displaying a cooperative and professional attitude.
- Available to work periodic extended weekday hours and / or weekends in support of unusually high claim volume.
- Proficient in technology platforms utilized by Preferred Mutual (including but not limited to Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet-based applications)
- Accurate keyboarding up to 60 wpm

The base pay range for this position is $18.50 to $22.00 paid on an hourly basis. The rate offered to any candidate will be reflective of the candidate’s experience and any relevant education, certification, or qualifications related to their ability to perform the responsibilities of this position as permitted by law.
