Claims Support Manager - Hybrid

Department: 2100 Claims
Location:

Hybrid Role. Must be able to go onsite to our office in New Berlin, NY, approximately 1-2 days a week.

YOUR PURPOSE AND FUNCTION IN OUR COMPANY:

The Claims Support Manager leads a team of high-volume transactional contributors within the Claims Department. This role is accountable for achieving established production targets, delivering an exceptional experience for our internal and external customers while maintaining a highly collaborative and engaged team.

The Claims Support Manager will:

  • Foster a positive employee experience and teamwork aligned with our culture.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding, development, training, and performance management of direct reports
  • Manage staffing levels, including managing total headcount and daily staffing levels from time off requests and leaves of absence, to ensure appropriate levels of coverage and production.
  • Actively manage workflow queues and volume and redirect resources to ensure metrics are achieved for quality, quantity and timeliness.
  • Ensure best practices, company policies and procedures, and compliance/regulatory rules are documented, communicated to staff, and adhered to, and issues are escalated as appropriate.
  • Produce timely production reports and dashboards.
  • Determine efficacy of processes and modify for continuous improvement.
  • Manage effectively in a hybrid work environment while working onsite and virtually.
  • Collaborate with peer Managers across the department to streamline processes and ensure tasks are handled at the appropriate level.
  • Identify tasks and processes that can be taken on by Claims Support as the department and roles evolve.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
  • 5+ years' related work experience required.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary.
  • Experience in insurance industry preferred.
  • Proficient in relevant enterprise tools and software utilized by Preferred Mutual including but not limited to (CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).

The base pay range for this position is $72,500 - $100,000 per year paid on a salaried basis. The rate offered to any candidate will be reflective of the candidate’s experience and any relevant education, certification, or qualifications related to their ability to perform the responsibilities of this position as permitted by law.
