YOUR PURPOSE AND FUNCTION IN OUR COMPANY:

The Data Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst II is responsible for leading medium to large Agile functional test projects, including the hands-on design, build, and execution of comprehensive functional and automation test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data for Enterprise data solutions.

This role requires a self-driven individual who is proactive, demonstrates a clear initiative and desire to lead IT and Business team members through key project test efforts (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod) utilizing various techniques and technologies, and sharing this knowledge with others.

You will work closely with data engineers (ETL developers), database administrators, data scientists, and other stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies that guarantee the integrity, accuracy, availability, reliability, and performance of our data solutions.

KEY CAPABILITIES FOR SUCCESS:

  • 4 - 6 years’ experience leading and executing Data Quality Assurance testing which includes hands-on experience in manual and automated testing and test data generation for Data Lakes; Data Warehouse models (Star Schemas); ETL; tables; views; cubes; reports; dashboards and inbound/outbound feeds and integrations; applications, and inter-connected systems.
  • Ability to self-lead, guide, and direct other team members and coworkers through testing and testing related activities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to translate a set of project requirements (for associated and disparate systems) into a cohesive test plan; test strategy; test suite; end to end test; user acceptance test; and/or other similar holistic quality solution for a suite of data lake; data warehouse and business intelligence developed systems; applications, and workflow changes.

KEY Responsibilities:

  • Data Validation and Testing:
    • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts to validate data pipelines, BI reports, dashboards, ETL processes, schemas, tables, stored procedures, queries, jobs and ETL in support of all data lake, data warehouse feeds, functions, data layers and integrations for on-premises and cloud environments.
    • Perform through data quality checks, including data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
    • Identify, document, and track data defects, and work with data engineers (ETL developers) to resolve issues.
  • Automation and Continuous Integration:
    • Develop automated test scripts using tools like Python, SQL, or cloud-native testing frameworks.
    • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing and monitoring of data quality in real-time.
    • Maintain and enhance the automation framework, ensuring it is scalable and adaptable to changing data requirements.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Generate reports on data quality metrics, test coverage, and defect rates, providing insights to drive continuous improvement.
    • Develop dashboards and visualizations to track data quality trends over time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience will be considered in-lieu of a college degree or advanced certification
  • Certifications in cloud platforms preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Data QA Analyst, with a focus on cloud environments.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and cloud-native services.
  • Strong background in data testing, including ETL, data lakes, data warehousing, and data pipeline validation.
  • Predictive analytics experience.

Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years’ proficiency in complex SQL, Python, or any other scripting languages used for data testing/data test automation.
  • Direct experience with cloud-based data services such as Azure DevOps, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, Cloud PowerBI, etc.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) and integrating testing into deployment pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks and tools.

Other Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance or Finance industry is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The salary range for the role is $78,500 to $120,800 per year paid on a salaried basis. The rate offered to any candidate will be reflective of the candidate’s experience and any relevant education, certification, or qualifications related to their ability to perform the responsibilities of this position as permitted by law.
